It works great! Retailer claimed he had never experienced a duff DX lens before and tried it on three different Nikon models in the shop - it didn't work on any of them. I've gone and splurged on the m VR lens, it's great too!
I like my D but I have a lot of soft focus problems. I'm using non Nikkor lenses and have tried many combinations of focus settings.
I'm wondering if I should have purchased Nikkor lenses instead of trying to save a few bucks. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thank goodness, I am not the only one! I have been shooting weddings for 19 years, never had a focusing issue, started to think it was me! Its like gambling on the weddings, will this be a good shot??? I am so frustrated with Nikon. They are so nonchilant about it. Im now thing swithcing to cannon.
Has anyone made that switch?? Any suggestions on a good model without these issues?? Jen since my previous post I have sold all my Nikon gear and invested in the competitor. It was because Nikon refused to accept fault and remedy the problem. I could go on but I can tell you I am incredibly happy with my choice to change.
Remember its your choice! After 6months of use, all of a sudden my AF stopped working. My initial thoughts were that it was D Body Problem. I immediately checked with one of my old Tamron Lens and AF worked just fine. I got my Lens just 3 days back after 3 weeks and so far everything is fine. This forum made me think that the problem was with D Body. I bought both body and lens online body at Amazon and Lens at Ritz Camera , and I strongly believe that Ritz has sold me a refurbished lens.
Ritz even ditched me with mail-in-rebate, and their customer service sucks. Stupid but simple. Over a year to figure that one out for me I've been through all the solutions offered above; I can usually get the autofocus to work if I go through and make sure every setting is correct. The problem is that this is a complicated camera, not a faulty one.
I thought it was just me - I own 2 Ds and have the same issues with both. These cameras were purchased at different times from different vendors. I have been so frustrated that I am nervous each time I need to do a shoot. The issue is somewhat inconsistent, but I can always count on something going wrong at the most inconvenient time.
I can usually get the autofocus to work if I go through and make sure every setting is correct. The problem is that this is a complicated camera I also came to the same conclusion.
