How to disable windows installer logging
It can be enabled from Group Policy Editor on some Windows editions or by adding an entry in the registry. Since I manually enabled the logging and I know it is enabled because I looked in the registry I downloaded and ran this part from that link:. Then I checked the registry again and the part where Widows Installer logging was enabled had been removed so I suppose that "easy fix" worked okay.
If you want to check yourself first make a manual System Restore point because you need to look in the registry. If the Installer key is present it should contain no values except Default which means no logging is enabled:. If logging is enabled there will be a value under the Installer key called "Logging" which you can right click and delete leaving just the Default value.
